Sarah Edwards (she/her/hers)

Sarah believes that design has the power to enhance and improve each individual's life, on every scale. As a designer at PCA, her role helps enhance communities and make a positive impact in their contexts.

  • I’m from  Maine.

  • My education  B.Arch and M.Arch, Wentworth Institute of Technology

  • Why PCA?  I was immediately drawn to PCA for the office culture, variety of projects and emphasis on the people. PCA makes sure everyone is involved and an integral part of the whole.

  • My earliest design memory  Playing with LEGO. I would build and rebuild for hours on end.

  • I’m drawn to design because  Design has the power to enhance and improve each individual's life, on every scale. Specifically, I believe the role of architecture is to work within the community and with the users to make a positive impact in its context.

  • Building I wish I designed  Mercat Santa Caterina in Barcelona, Spain. In order to not disrupt the views of the surrounding apartments, this building uses its roof as an art piece that only the residents of the surrounding buildings can see. The undulating mosaic design is representative of the colorful movement of the Catalans.

  • Cats or dogs?  Dogs

  • On my playlist  "Now I'm In It" by HAIM

  • If I were a Pantone swatch, my color would be  Yellow C

  • My best vacation  When I finished grad school, I went to Peru and Bolivia. I spent two weeks traveling throughout both countries and even got to meet the child I sponsor through World Vision in Tarija, Bolivia. We went to Lima, Cusco, Machu Picchu, La Paz, Tarija, and Lake Titicaca, and it was absolutely incredible.
