  • Why PCA?  I’m drawn to PCA for the positive energy of its people. Everyone is supportive, collaborative and genuinely invested in each other’s success. I also appreciate the balanced hybrid work environment and the firm’s location in Cambridge.

  • My earliest architectural design memory  is of Central Street in Harbin, where I grew up - a long, cobblestone, tree-lined pedestrian street framed by richly detailed European buildings. As a child, I didn’t know the names of the styles, but I was captivated by the ornament, scale and variety. That everyday experience of the street as my playground, immersed in such a layered and expressive streetscape, sparked my lasting interest in architecture.

  • I’m drawn to design because  it provides me with the opportunity to develop creative, expressive solutions that are rooted in rational analysis where thoughtful problem-solving and artistry come together.

  • A place that has affected me is  Wang shi Yuan in Suzhou, China. It is a traditional Chinese scholar garden that reflects a deep harmony between humans and nature. More than a physical space, it is an artistic and philosophical expression of the scholar’s character, ideas and aspirations.

  • I’m inspired by  nature and by the work of artists from different disciplines, which continually influence how I think about design.

  • On Saturday mornings, you can usually find me  in front of my computer.

  • What is the nerdiest thing you do in your spare time?  I enjoy exploring AI tools.

  • SketchUp or Revit?  Revit

  • The craziest thing I’ve ever done is  coming to the U.S. to study and build a life, stepping into the unknown with curiosity and determination.

  • One thing most people don’t know about you  I am a fencing dad.

  • The most fulfilling thing I've done  I got A+ from 'Programming in Java' at MIT as a student from School of Architecture two decades ago.
