Steve Bryson

With a BA in Architectural History from Boston University, Steve is inspired by historical context — respecting and revitalizing the existing environment to create dynamic new spaces.

  • I’m from  North Attleboro, MA.

  • My education  Boston University and Boston Architectural College

  • Community service  I've volunteered with PCA at the Friday Night Suppers, done drawing and construction work for Habitat For Humanity, and volunteered with a group at Horizons for Homeless Children.

  • My earliest design memory is  designing huge cities and towers with my blocks when I was a little kid, and then my sister knocking them all down and having to start over!

  • A project I’m proud of is  Arsenal Yards. Being a member of the design team and getting to take all the buildings through construction has felt like a great accomplishment.

  • A space/place that has affected me is  La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Seeing it for the first time and stepping inside it completely blew me away. Pictures could not even come close to doing it justice and being inside the space felt like stepping into another world.

  • A material that excites me is  exposed structural steel. I love it when a building is honest about its structure and shows it off.

  • On my playlist  Anything by the Dave Matthews Band

  • I’m my best self when  driving in my car exploring some back roads.

  • Favorite place in the PCA office  The basement (PCA Band music studio)

  • How my colleagues would describe me  Extremely positive and will laugh at anything

  • My favorite creative endeavor  Photography — I got into it a couple years ago and was instantly hooked
