In the heart of Harvard Square, the Abbot Building’s renovation promotes sustainable urban development with its rooftop garden.

At 5,000 SF, the Abbot Building’s green roof transforms a historic urban site into a thriving rooftop meadow, promoting biodiversity and sustainability. Installed by Recover Green Roofs and in collaboration with Omni Ecosystems, the green roof connects its occupants to nature while supporting the City’s stormwater management system.

DiAnn was key to realizing a historic urban rooftop that’s visible across Harvard Square—structurally compatible, resilient and living.
